The Albany FilmFest, happening Oct. 12, 14 and 15 this year, is an annual multicultural, multivoiced celebration of independent short films from the Bay Area and around the world. Festival organizers are sad to say goodbye to their old venue of the Albany Twin Theatre, which recently closed after 88 years, but thrilled that Rialto Cinemas Cerrito has stepped in to host screenings just a few blocks away at 10070 San Pablo Ave. in El Cerrito. The festival, now in its 13th year, welcomes submissions from filmmakers of all ages, encouraging conversation, community and engagement among the filmmakers and our interested, enthusiastic film-goers.
