Updated: 5:53 PM PDT Jun 3, 2023 On Saturday, the Monterey History and Art Association hosted the 92nd annual La Merienda to celebrate Monterey's 253rd birthday. The event was held at the Memory Garden at Custom House Plaza. Guests enjoyed music, traditional Mexican folkloric dances, and a barbecue prepared by Chris Shakes' team from "Old Fisherman's Grotto.
